It works by modulating dopamine and serotonin activity in the brain, helping to stabilize mood, reduce hallucinations, and improve thought processes. In schizophrenia, aripiprazole alleviates symptoms like delusions, disorganized thinking, and social withdrawal. For bipolar disorder, it is prescribed both for acute manic episodes and as a maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of mood swings.
